7th day: Khao Lak
Near Khao Lak there is Khao Lak-Lumru National Park, with a couple of waterfalls in it to see. I think it’s a good tourist attraction for when the weather is not perfect for sunbathing on the beach. Our first day on the west coast wasn’t the most beautiful – it was cloudy, so we decided to see one of the waterfalls – Ton Chong Fa.
The hotel, at which we stayed offered scooters for rental, which, we willingly used 🙂 It was our first time riding scooter and it was quite fun.
After 10 minutes of ride from the hotel, we reached our destination, gate to Khao Lak-Lumru National Park. Just pay the entrance fee (200 Baht) and walk around 5 minutes to reach the first of 5 levels of Ton Chong Fa.
The first level is a great place for bathing. Note, that there is small fish which delicately bite your skin.
Waterfall is worth seeing, but not a must-see, we just headed there because weather was not good for spending time on beach.
Around 4 p.m., when we were about to leave the Ton Chong Fa and visit another waterfall, it slowly started raining. Just after we reached our hotel, real heavy rain fell. We had to change our plans and stay in our room till the end of rain.
When it stopped (after 2 hours) it was time for the dinner at a seafood restaurant recommended by owner of the hotel.
