Alps – hat of the Europe

I love hats – including that of Europe too 😉

I love traveling and visiting new places so when I had the opportunity I just used it to check out how Switzerland looks. And it looks good! The whole trip took four days; while spending nights in Zurich  every day we traveled and saw as much as possible of absolutely stunning nature of the Switzerland. Zurich as a city did not make a huge impression on me – I live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. But what impressed me were The Alps: I really miss mountain view which is what I miss in The Netherlands – well you cannot have everything at once.

It is just a 1,5-hour car ride from Zurich to Lauterbrunnen – a little town in a valley in The Alps. The town is lovely, like from movies of James Bond. Talking about James Bond, he was here too! Maybe that’s why I felt the 007 vibe. But you can not say that you were in The Alps without being on one of their peaks. To climb (almost 3000 meters) we used a cable car (Lauterbrunnen – Grütschalp), a train Grütschalp – Mürren), a little bit of walking, then another cable car (to Birg). I totally loved this combination, the bigger variety the better. For planning your journey, check the site for the ticket information.

To complete our The Alps experience  we had a barbecue. Next to cable car and bus station there is a public barbecue, with free wood, for you to make lunch or dinner or whatever you like 🙂
