Tastes of Istanbul – part. 2: how to eat Lahmacun.

I love lahmacun! It is a delicious lunch option for a very good price. It’s made of very thin dough with a layer of minced meat, vegetables and spices.
For perfect Lahmacun head to Kadıköy ‘s bazaar and find Halil. It’s a tiny place but always full of locals and this is a very good sign.

At first, the cook prepares flat circle of dough on which he puts meat and rest.

Then lahmacuns are transported on a wooden shovel into the oven

Don’t be a tourist and eat lahmacun like local! Put parsley and add some lemon drops.

Roll it and it’s ready. Don’t forget to drink Halil’s homemade ayran with your lahmacun!
